The Tegeler Audio Magnetismus 2 is designed for engineers and producers who want more than standard compression. Its signal path starts with a versatile VCA compressor that can control peaks, tighten dynamics, and add cohesion to stereo material without flattening the life out of a performance. This makes it well suited for drum buses, synthesizers, acoustic guitars, subgroup work, and full mix processing.
After compression, the transient shaper adds a distinct character by rounding transients rather than simply turning them up or down. This gives signals a smoother, thicker response that can help them sit more naturally in a mix. The three selectable Flux Modes, Eisen, Kobalt, and Nickel, process the signal through different transformer paths to create different transient responses and analog-style saturation behavior.
The Intensity control allows precise shaping of how much the transient stage affects the source, while the output transformer adds additional density and punch. With subtle settings, the unit can act as a mix glue processor or mastering compressor. With more aggressive settings, it can also be used creatively for crushed drums, heavily reshaped transients, and more experimental sound design.
