Wholesale Low-End for Pro Audio

When you need bottom end that fills a room, and you're already running amps and processing, a passive subwoofer is the smart way to build it. Whether you're stocking rental inventory, spec'ing a fixed install, or adding low-frequency punch to a touring rig, an unpowered subwoofer puts you in control of the amplification and tuning. Square Cable carries the brands and configurations your clients run, from single 15s to the dual 18 subwoofer rigs that anchor the biggest systems; all with wholesale pricing and account support built for the trade.

Why Spec a Passive Sub

A passive sub keeps the amplifier out of the box, which changes the math on a lot of installs and rigs. For pros running their own racks, that's a feature, not a compromise:

  • Centralized amplification: Keep your amps and DSP in the rack where you can manage them, not scattered across the stage
  • Lighter enclosures: No onboard amp means less weight per box for load-in, flying, and weekend turnarounds
  • Tuning control: Dial in crossover, EQ, and limiting your way instead of living with a fixed onboard preset
  • Easier service: When the amp lives in the rack, a sub swap is fast, and there's less to troubleshoot in the field

For integrators wiring a club or house of worship, a passive sub means cleaner amp room management. For rental and production houses, it means standardized racks driving rooms of every size.

Built for the Way You Work

The catalog spans the formats and power classes your projects call for, whether that's a compact install sub or a high-output touring rig:

  • Single 15in and 18in passive subwoofers for tight installs and portable systems that still need real low end
  • Dual 18 subwoofer enclosures for maximum output and headroom under large arrays and high-SPL rooms
  • Flyable passive subs with rigging points for arrays and permanent overhead builds
  • Horn-loaded and reflex-loaded designs to match the throw, output, and footprint your room demands

An 18-inch passive subwoofer remains the workhorse of live sound for a reason: it moves serious air, handles power, and pairs cleanly with tops of every class. Names like JBL, RCF, and FBT carry weight with clients because they hold up gig after gig, and we A/B test what comes through the door so you're stocking gear that earns its place.

Stocking, Spec'ing & Account Support

Square Cable runs on wholesale. If you're a production company, rental house, integrator, or a venue buying direct, opening a dealer account gets you trade pricing, inventory visibility, and a real person who knows the difference between a reflex-loaded and a horn-loaded sub. Questions about amp matching, impedance, or how much low end a room needs? Just ask–that's what we're here for.

FAQs

Can I run a passive sub right out of the box, or do I need extra gear?

You'll need an external amplifier and processing to drive it. That's the trade-off for the control and lighter weight. Match the amp to the sub's power and impedance, and you're set.

What amp do I need for a dual 18 subwoofer?

Size the amp to the enclosure's RMS power handling and impedance, with some headroom on top. For a dual 18, that usually means a serious two- or four-channel amp running bridged;  match it properly and you'll get clean, controlled low end.

Can I fly an 18-inch passive subwoofer with my array?

Many passive subs include rigging points for flying. Confirm the enclosure is rated for it and use the matching hardware–then you can hang your low end right alongside the tops.

How many subs do I need for a room?

Depends on the size, SPL target, and how much low end the program demands. A small bar might run a single sub per side, while a large room or outdoor show scales up to multiple dual 18 cabinets.
