FAQs

Can I run these straight off a powered mixer, or do I need a separate amp? 

Either works. Unpowered speakers need external amplification, so you can drive them from a powered mixer for smaller setups or a dedicated amp rack for bigger rigs. Just match the amp's output to the cabinet's power handling and impedance.

Do these work on a 70V/100V line, or only low-impedance? 

Depends on the model. Many of our install-focused passive loudspeakers ship with 70V/100V transformer taps for distributed systems, while stage and touring boxes typically run 8-ohm low-Z. Check the spec sheet or ask us before you order for a job.

How do I know what amplifier to pair with them? 

Aim for an amp that delivers headroom above the speaker's continuous rating at the matching impedance. When in doubt, send us your cabinet count and layout—we'll help you size the amp so nothing's underpowered or pushed into clipping.
